The Beginning.
Dewsbury & Proud was established in 1977 by Jerry Dewsbury and Tony Proud with a 6 Ton Mobile Crane. One year later and the purchase of the Company's first new truck mounted telescopic
crane, a 15 ton Hydrocon, laid the seeds of the strong foundations that the Company is built on today.
Since those early days we have expanded to over 30 cranes and developed a first class reputation with the emphasis on quality of service, safety and reliability. With the introduction of contract lifts we have used our experience and knowledge to supply teams of support staff for more complex
lifts with planning engineers who can be made available for site surveys at short notice.
Modern Day & the Minicrane
Our continuing investment in new equipment from the worlds leading manufacturers ensures that Dewsbury and Proud supplies cranes of the highest standard. The up to date features offer improved accessibility, increased lifting duties, longer jib lengths and computerised safety devices not previously available. Combine this with fully experienced and trained operators and you have the most cost effective lifting service available on the hire market.
The new Millennium bought changes in legislation and better working practices and with this we have seen the development of specialised machines by manufacturers giving solutions for specialised requirements. We recognised that the use of these machines in the general crane hire market would plug a gap between large mobile cranes and traditional manual handling of loads into awkward positions. It may be on top of a 20 storey building or in your back garden - the solutions are endless. In 2008 Dewsbury & Proud launched Mini Crane Hire Midlands dedicated to this rapidly expanding market.
